As part of SWAN’s ongoing organizational capacity building and restructuring, SWAN received a two-year grant from the City of Vancouver to increase the involvement and leadership of im/migrant women who do sex work in all levels of our organization. The ‘Beyond Peer Support’ project examines the barriers im/migrant women who do sex work experience in providing peer services, engaging in sex work activism, accessing services and taking leadership roles at SWAN. The project will make recommendations of what lies beyond traditional models of peer support and implement these recommendations in order to increase SWAN’s organizational inclusiveness.
